For Applicants & Principal Investigators (PIs)

All academic staff, researchers, and postgraduate students of the University of Gondar are eligible. External collaborators must be invited and managed by a lead UoG Principal Investigator.

Access is provisioned by the Research Directorate. UoG staff/students should contact their department research coordinator or email grantsupport@uog.edu.et with their UoG ID to request an account.

Open Calls" are listed on your dashboard after login. If no calls appear, there may be no active funding cycles, or your profile may need verification. Contact the research office for confirmation.

Yes. Use the "Save Draft" button. Your draft will be stored securely. You can return to edit and submit it before the deadline.

Most documents (proposals, CVs) must be in PDF format. Budgets may require an Excel template. The maximum file size is typically 10 MB per file. Please check the specific call guidelines.

You will receive an on-screen confirmation and a submission receipt via your registered UoG email. Always check your "Submitted Applications" list.

You can add any UoG colleague or approved external collaborator. For external members, you must provide their full institutional email, and they will need to complete a short guest registration.

For Awardees & Project Management

You will receive an official award letter and contract via the portal. You must electronically sign the agreement, submit an inception report, and activate your project account with the finance office.

Submit a formal request through the "Project Management" module of your awarded grant. All modifications require prior approval from the Research Directorate.

Navigate to your active project in the portal. Use the "Reporting" tab to upload your reports by the scheduled due dates. Late submissions may affect future funding eligibility.

Funds are released in tranches based on approved milestones and reporting compliance. The first disbursement occurs after contract signing. All financial transactions are managed through the UoG finance system, linked to your project ID.

For Reviewers & Administrators

You will receive a secure link to the reviewer portal. Log in with your credentials to access assigned proposals, scoring rubrics, and submit your confidential evaluation.

Departmental administrators have a dedicated dashboard view to monitor the status of all submissions, awards, and reports from their unit.

Technical & Account Support

Click the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. A reset link will be sent to your official UoG email address.

Accounts are locked after multiple failed login attempts. Please contact the GMS Helpdesk at gms-support@uog.edu.et to unlock your account.

Log in, go to "My Profile," and edit your information. Keeping your profile updated is crucial for application eligibility and reviewer matching.
